I wanted to use a safer paint for Maddie’s room and I like that the Tones for Tots line has zero VOC’s. The subtle colours of the line are: Little star (yellow), Little Speckled Frog (green), Little Teapot (teal), Little Whale (blue) Little Lamb (grey), Little Piggy (pink), and Little Stork (lavender).
Maddie chose Little Teapot (teal) for her bedside table:
We wiped down the table and then she painted the first coat herself – I did the second.
Maddie’s vintage dresser was my childhood dresser…and my Mom’s…and originally my Great-Grandma’s. Over the years many coats of paint were added and the drawers stuck so my Husband used a hand plane to help fix this issue.
Then I used our new ShopVac to clean up the shavings and old paint bits…. Maddie and I worked on the first coat together:
My Husband and Ava went for a walk and came back with freezies so I took a break after applying the second coat of paint.
Everyone wanted to help paint the drawers so the girls painted two of them Little Stork (lavender) and other one Little Piggie (pink).
Maddie is very happy with her re-vamped furniture:
|Bedside table: Little Teapot (teal)|
|Dresser: Little Teapot (teal), Little Piggie (pink, top drawer) &
Little Stork (lavender, two bottom drawers)
There’s some leftover paint so we’ll do some more projects for the house – maybe some picture frames and shelving.
The paint coverage of the Tones for Tots line is great, and the standard 2 coats are all that is needed even for the light colours. Check out www.fusionmineralpaint.com for more information.
I received the three colours of paint for my review. All opinions expressed and reviews are my own.
